About 7 miles Moderate, with a steeper section at the end on some switchbacks.

Drive time: 2 hrs. 15 mins from Newtowne. Shuttling should take 12-15 minutes.

We will start from where the previous MST Section many of us did last year (Black Balsam Rod., Skinny Dip Falls, the "Dragon Tree") ended, and shuttle hike to Pisgah Inn. We will start at the Wagon Road Gap Parking Area just past Hwy. 276, at Milepost 412.2. We'll hike about 1/2 (maybe slightly more) mile and then cross Hwy. 276. About 1 mile after that, the MST then follows the Buck Spring Trail to the Pisgah Inn. See the Friends of the Mts.-to-Sea Guide, Segment 2 (link below), from mile54.6 to mile 61 for details of most of the hike.

Since the hike is not too long and is moderate/strenuous, we can discuss options. We should be finished hiking by 1 or 1:30. We could eat lunch together at the Pisgah Inn, or we could hike up Mt. Pisgah (3 miles out and back, rated moderate), making it about a 10-mile day, of course.
