Intermediate Mountain Bike Ride
Emigrant Trail, Truckee June 17, 2017

BRIEF RIDE SYNOPSIS: The Emigrant trail is typically one of the first high elevation trails to open so thats where were heading for our next ride. Starting at about 5,700 and climbing to a high elevation of 6,100 the trail is mostly smooth hard-packed singletrack with a few technical areas. The setting is at the boundary of high desert and mountain forest where the landscape varies from sagebrush to Jeffery pines to white fir forest.

RIDE SCRIPTURE: Rev 22:1-2 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

Distance and Elevation Gain: Ride options will depend on our turnout so it may be Friday afternoon before a final decision is made. My hope is to keep everyone together for one route at about 20 miles so we can all finish by 3:00 and then enjoy dinner and fellowship after the ride.

WATER AND FOOD: At least 80 oz of water is required, bring your own food and/or energy bars for the ride. HELMET AND CLOTHING: Helmets are required! Proper clothing and shoes for the weather conditions will make your ride that much more enjoyable. WEATHER ALERT: Rain on Saturday will cancel our ride.
