Mount Storelk is rated difficult scramble as per Kane's book. A fall on crux could be very serious or fatal! Please only sign up if you are comfortable with exposure, have good fitness and good at scrambling. This scramble is not for novice! We move at a steady moderate pace, with only a few small hydration breaks, plus a break at the summit.

More information on the scramble see Kane's, Scrambles in the Canadian Rockies, book. It's completely your responsibility to familiarize yourself about the scramble as much as possible before you sign up. Note: If conditions are not favorable I'll either change the objective or cancel the event. But do check the forecast yourself before going and make sure you know what youre in for.

Group size: 4
Gas contribution: Contribute to gas if your a passenger. Suggested $15 per person.

Gear (Mandatory, You won't be allowed to join without these):

Climbing Helmet Hiking Boots Food / Snacks.

Water (2 liters minimum)

Proper hiking clothes (no cotton/jeans) Personal First Aid Kit

Shell jacket

Toque, Mitts/Gloves

Sunglasses

Bear spray

Recommended:
Down jacket/ fleece jacket, hiking poles, Emergency bivy sack/Blanket, hand/toe warmers, GPS device.

BE PREPARED. ABSOLUTELY NO COTTON! Weather can change quickly -- rain, snow, wind, cold, or warm.

NOTE: What we are doing out here is dangerous, by registering for this hike you signify that you are aware of the risks associated with nature hiking, snowshoeing, scrambling, wildlife encounters, as well as carpooling. You are aware of your physical limits, and how they relate to these activities. You also signify that you take full responsibility for your own safety. The organizer is not a trained guide, just a volunteer who likes the outdoors. Please do you own preparation for the trip and have all the gear. Be prepared for rain, snow, wind, sun, thunderstorm, bears, cougars, etc. While we will do our best to ensure that everyone returns safe and sound, you will not hold the organizer of the event or the organizers of this group responsible for any harm or liability that might occur as a result of your participation.
