Two trails are under construction right now and should be open by October 26th. Which ever is finished first will be this walk. So check back to confirm well lead the second walk on November 9th. Both show off our newly constructed boardwalks which were done with help from Boy Scouts and Carpenters Union Local 336 and many volunteers. The two walks will be:
Start on Concord Rd. at the Cider Knoll Conservation Land and walk through a beautiful field, past a large wetland pond and across our newly constructed boardwalks and bridges. Enjoy a closeup view of a beautiful wet meadow and marsh which pass ledge outcrops and fields of ferns. We'll turn around at the new boardwalk on Concord Rd. to enjoy this beautiful scenery again on the way back! Trust us, this is a trail NOT to miss. This walk is just under two miles round trip and is an easy hike for all ages.
The trail is dog friendly but for this guided walk we appreciate you leaving your four legged friend home.
A huge thanks to our trail builders: Eagle Scouts, Andrew Desmarais; Brian Boxell; Nicholas Battaglino; Carson Byrnes; Liam Neal Reilly; Evan Ritter; and Dylan Green and Carpenters Union Local 366 and other volunteers.
The second option will be from Felton Conservation Land on Elm St. in Marlborough to the connection with the trail in Northborough and back. This will be a 4-mile round trip walk. Through a beautiful open space field, woods and wetland area, featuring our longest boardwalk, and a beautiful small hill with a unique geology up to Northborough. This is one of the most beautiful new sections of trail weve opened! Come and explore and touch two towns!! This hike is rated as medium as it is a bit longer hike but is acceptable for all ages.
A huge thanks goes out to our trail builders on this section: AMSA students; Rotary Club; Eagles Scout Steve Chisholm and Zach Ritter; Carpenters Union Local 336; Highland City Striders and other volunteer.
Please plan to meet at 8:45 AM so the hike can get started promptly at 9:00 AM. We look forward to your participation
Let us know you'll be joining us by registering today! The event is free of charge.
