UPDATE: This hike is a GO for tomorrow! Please if you are running late, contact me ASAP. I will allow for 10 minutes extra if I am contacted but I will not wait any longer than that out of respect for the group. We will probably be going at a slower pace to be able to chat and take pictures. This is definitely not a lets see how fast we can finish type of hike. Thanks and cant wait to meet all the new comers!
Description: Although this trail wasnt too technical, there were parts that were super rocky and uncomfortable. Having sturdy shoes can eliminate most discomfort as does hiking with caution. I only made it Just past the Duck Pond before having to turn around because my doggy was tired. I will try to follow this trail all the way through before Saturday so you know what to expect.
This gentle downhill and easy uphill hike follows an out and back trail located near Scripps Ranch/Poway area. It is a little less than 3 miles long that features a pond and a waterfall (assuming theres still water left). This is an easier version of the longer 6.7 mile hike on the other side.
The directions to this place are a little rough so I will update them ASAP. This is what I have so far:
The trailhead is at the cross section of Del Vino Ct and Duck Pond Lane.
I just I put in Duck Pond Lane and made sure it was the one that was near Carmel mountain.

Take I-5 north, exit onto the SR-56 local bypass north, continue to SR-56 east, and exit onto Carmel Country Rd., turning right (south). Turn left onto Del Mar Mesa Rd. and drive east. At a slight turn to the right, the road becomes Little McGonicle Ranch Rd. Turn right onto Del Vino Ct. and park at the end of road. The trailhead is on the left. No facilities or water.

How to find us:We will meet by the trailhead right in front of the Duck Pond Lane sign.
