Brothers of the Desert is sponsoring aone-day wellness summit focused on Black gay men in the Coachella Valley and beyond to be held on Saturday, November 9th at the LGBT Center in Palm Springs.

The event features innovative workshops, interactive discussions and entertaining presentations on a diverse range of topics, such as relationships and intimacy, spirituality, the impact of racism, sexual pleasure, artistic expression, financial planning, building community, health care and more. The day will also include breakfast, lunch, raffle prizes, music and opportunities to meet new people and socialize.

Living Your Best Black Gay Life is the theme of the summit, which is designed to connect Black gay men and promote a better quality of life. The event is sponsored by Brothers of the Desert (BOD), a Black gay mens empowerment group dedicated to philanthropy, volunteerism, mentorship, education, advocacyand social networking.

The summit is designed for Black gay men but is not limited to Black gay men only. Allies of the Black gay community are welcome to attend and support this event.

Speakers include: Bryan Gallo (KMIR/NBC), Ron Oden (former Mayor of Palm Springs), Leo Moore, MD, (Assistant Medical Director, LA County), Gamal Palmer (Global Eye Enterprenuers), Christopher Burton (Art Active/LA), Perry Lang (Interfaith Spiritual Leader), Michael Everett and Aunsha Hall (Intimacy and Colour).

The day-long summit begins with breakfast and registration from 8:00 a.m. to 10 a.m., workshops and discussions will take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and an post summit social event that will occur between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Space is limited, and registration is required. A donation of $20 is suggested but no one will be turned away for a lack of funds.
