Lightroom Develop Module

Requirements and Prerequisites: Students participating in this class are encouraged to bring their own laptop, with the most current version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom installed. While this is not an absolute requirement, students will be provided with sample images to follow along with the classroom presentation. Attendees are expected to have an operational knowledge of the Windows or Mac computer that they will be using. This operational knowledge should include, but is not strictly limited to; ability to navigate to folders on the systems hard drive, ability to copy files between drive locations, working knowledge of system cut / copy / paste / undo functions, as well as an understanding of system provided file / object selection tools (e.g. select all, select range, add to selection, remove from selection).

Widely used by amateur and professional photographers alike, Lightroom offers the complete image management, editing, and output solution for your photographs. In this course we explore the multitude of features that Lightroom offers, for editing, correcting, and optimizing the quality of your images stored in Lightroom. The Develop Module is where Lightrooms image editing work gets done, and its here where you can make your images look their best. The course features in depth coverage of:

  • Develop module, getting started

    • Evaluating images for editing

    • The grid and guidelines

    • Before and after views

    • History, resets, and snapshots

  • Develop module basics

    • Develop module presets

    • Fixing white balance

    • Making tonal adjustments

    • Clarity, vibrance, and saturation

  • Image cleanup tools

    • Cropping and straightening

    • Noise reduction

    • Chromatic aberration

  • Advanced Develop module tools

    • Using tone curves and advanced color adjustments

    • Image sharpening

    • Camera calibration

    • Color profile management

  • Localized editing

    • Graduated adjustments

How do I know if this class is the right class for my level of interest and/or expertise?
This class is part of the Lightroom Series, designed to be taken in order. The series starts withLR: Getting Started, thenLR:Library, followed byLR: Develop, and thenLR: Output. Classes can be taken out of order if you have experience with Lightroom, but the beginner should start from the beginning.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Bring your laptop with Lightroom already loaded onto the hard drive. See prerequisites above for more info.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

You may request a refund up totwo daysbefore the class. For example, your class is on a Saturday, you have until the Thursday before to ask for a refund. Refunds requestedthe day beforeorday ofthe class, will be dealt with on a case by case basis, and are subject to processing fees.
