THIS IS AN INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED LEVEL HIKE. THIS HIKE IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS. THERE WILL BE NO "PLUS ONES" ALLOWED TO ATTEND THIS HIKE. IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE THAT REALLY WANTS TO GO ON THIS HIKE, HAVE THAT PERSON SIGN UP SO HE/SHE CAN READ THE HIKE DESCRIPTION AND THE WAIVER OF LIABILITY.

Please be in good physical hiking condition to sign up for this hike. Do not assume that it will be an easy hike just because it's posted on Lazy Ass Hiking. You must be in good physical shape for this one.

We will hike up the heart of scenic Icehouse Canyon into the Cucamonga Wilderness to Icehouse Saddle. Follow Ontario Peak sign 1 mile to Kelly Camp. We then proceed to the Bighorn-Ontario Saddle and make a left to hike to Bighorn Peak. From Bighorn we follow the same path past the saddle to the top of the 8693-foot Ontario Peak. We return to Icehouse Canyon Saddle and down to the trail head.

If you are up for the challenge, come join us for this rollicking adventure past the Icehouse Saddle, past Kelly's Camp to Bighorn and over the multi-humps of Ontario Ridge to the 8,693-foot summit.

It's a 14 mile round trip hike with a 4300 feet elevation gain.

This is a good hike for those who have attended the conditioning hikes scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on our site and are looking to get conditioned for the six-pack of peaks for later in the spring-summer.

First, we'll hike up the Icehouse Canyon Trail 3.5 miles to the Icehouse Saddle.

From the Icehouse Saddle, we'll take the far right fork and follow the trail about a mile to Kelly's Camp.

From Kelly's Camp, we'll hike across the undulating Ontario Ridge about 1 mile to the Ontario-Bighorn Saddle and make a left. From Bighorn it is 2 miles to Ontario Peak summit where we will have lunch before we return to Icehouse Canyon Saddle and down to the trail head.

We will take breaks at the Saddle then at the two Peaks.
