Total Length: About 5 miles

Elevation change: About 1150'

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

Pace: Social, group stays together

Trail head
Enter the west (Nisqually) entrance to Mount Rainier National Park, 13.5 miles east of Elbe on State Route 706. Drive 14.5 miles to the Narada Falls Trailhead parking lot on the right.

From the east entrance, or from within the park, travel west 0.8 mile from the junction of Paradise Road and Stevens Canyon Road.

Note: We may also add Louise Lake to the trip which will make it a roughly 7 miles

Tentative Itinerary

07:00am - Tukwila P&R

10:00am - Start hiking

12:00pm - Lunch at Reflection Lakes

02:30pm - Back to trailhead

Optional stop for drinks/snacks after hike

05:00 pm-7 pm - back at Tukwila P&R

Important:

1. You and you alone are completely responsible for your safety.

2. National or Rainier Pass is required, one per car.

3. All vehicles are required to carry chains in Mt. Rainier National Park during the winter

4. No dogs on this hike please.

5. Wear sturdy waterproof boots, have layers of clothing, gaiters, poles, bring plenty of water, snack, packed lunch, and anything else of 10 essentials (http://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/ten-essentials.html).

6. Please bring $15 for your driver (includes National Park entrance fee) and a bag for your muddy boots if you plan on being a rider.

7. Update your RSVP in advance if your plans change. Two no-shows and/or late cancellation and you won't be able to participate in my future events.

8. Finally, please answer the question about carpool. Please add yourself to the wait list. I will move you to the main list as drivers sign up. Drivers with a reliable AWD car with snow chains will get priority. Thanks!

Please do not join this trip if you have plans in Seattle area that night.
