If you would like to use one of my kayaks, I will need you to call or text me a contact number so that I can verify the day before that you are still coming and that I should bring a boat for you. I can only bring boats for those I am able to get in contact with the day before.

There are a few people that have personal messaging turned off in Meetup. It helps to have that setting on so that a message can be sent directly to a person instead of the whole group.

Thank you so much for your help!

Hello, all.

This will be a relaxed ride. The plan is to go through the chain and back with some snacks and possibly a picnic. We could do a little potluck of snacks. Possibly individually bagged snacks like rice crispy bars, little sandwiches and other homemade goodies. I will be bringing two 4 person kayaks and possibly a few others, depending on how many people choose to come. This is a good trip for people who want to try kayaking in a multiple person boat or who do not have access to a kayak. Of course if you have a boat and wish to bring it, you are more than welcome! There is very little effort needed in these and are a lot of fun. I will be driving one with Mare and Jen. If you have any questions, please send me a message. Please leave a comment to let me know if you are bringing your own boat or would like to ride in one of mine so I have an idea of who is traveling in what. I will need a contact number for anyone who needs a boat. I will provide boats for all whom I can contact the day before to verify.

Attendance policy: This is NOT a limited-attendance event (lol) - if you get a spot, the expectation is you will attend or cancel at least 12 hours before the event (because I will be planning on how many people will be using my kayaks and where everyone will sit). No-shows usually mean someone else who would have paddled didn't get to paddle. If something happens last-minute and you can't make it, send a meetup message to the event host or post a comment as soon as possible, noting the reason, so you can be marked Didn't go vs No show.

Equipment: I will be supplying enough for 10 people. You can bring your own boat, paddle & PFD. Other items you may want to consider bringing: drinking water, potluck snacks, hat, paddle leash, sponge and sun screen.

Capsizing: You should always prepare for the possibility of capsizing. Secure valuables in a water tight bag. Bring an extra set of clothes in a dry bag (my 4 person boats have NEVER tipped and are extremley stable).

Everyone paddles at their own risk: By signing up for this event, you understand that paddling is an inherently risky activity, that you are responsible for your own personal safety and the care of your property, and agree to release the organizers, event hosts, and other members of the meetup from liability.
