What we'll do
Las Trampas Regional Wilderness is a 5,300 acre preserve just west of Mount Diablo near Danville.
This hike is meant for advanced beginners as it will only be three miles in length. It will, however, consist of varying terrain with some steep but short uphill and downhill segments. Total elevation gain is approximately 900 feet with most of it being in the first mile and a quarter.
We will begin the hike on the shallow to moderately graded Bollinger Creek Loop trial. At approximately one mile out the trail will become steep as we switch over to the Las Trampas Ridge Trail. After a short climb, (.3 mile) we will hike for about a mile along the varying contours of Las Trampas Ridge. From there we will take Chamise Trail back to the trailhead. This trail will have some steep downhill sections.
There are several other interesting trails in the area so if you wish you can stay and explore them.

What to bring
Bring plenty of water, bug spray, good hiking boots and poles if you have them.

Important to know
There are pit toilets at the trailhead. The park is dog friendly
