Jane's BEGINNER-level scramble to Diamond Cutter and Hidden Valley. This event is intended to allow people with some experience to go on a fun and pretty scramble.

Everyone starts on the waitlist and everyone must answer the question at the very end. No guests unless I specifically approve the guest for someone I already know and hike with. Total for this event about 12 max.

DON'T SIGN UP IF YOU ARE AFRAID OF HEIGHTS OR IF YOU CAN'T WALK A MILE IN 15 MINUTES ON FLAT GROUND. Flexibility and physical strength to move over boulders on uneven terrain while climbing are essential.

Distance: about 3 miles total.
Time: About 4 hours, there will be some short breaks, but we will hike quickly for about a half-mile to where we begin climbing.

Difficulty: about 3.4 maximum on a 5-pt scale. Mostly about a 3-3.2.

EASY to FOLLOW? NOT AT ALL. Participants must stay with the group.
NO KIDS AND NO DOGS
Exposure: A little bit. (This means walking, or standing or climbing beside an area with an open drop of at least several feet).

Some stamina and fitness are required, this is not an event for people who never exercise, There's about 500 vertical feet of elevation gain, and the route requires some upper body strength.

A backpack, water and a snack or light lunch to be out about 4 hours are required, I do have some loaner backpacks. Flexible closed shoes with grippy soles are necessary. If you are not properly equipped, you cannot go. This is intended to be fun, a relaxed pace and route, but there is still a good bit of climbing involved.
