Course Description:
Fire alarm technicians must be familiar with common codes and standards to protect the safety of the public. The technician will be able to identify types of fire alarm equipment that is used in commercial applications. This seminar will also go over alarm equipment that is used in commercial applications. This seminar will also present information related to types of detectors used in the fire alarm industry.

1. Explain the fundamentals associated with fire alarm systems.
Define the unique terminology associated with fire alarm systems.
Identify who is The National Fire Protection Association
Explain Conventional Hardwired Systems vs Multiplex Systems
Describe the function of an Addressable and Analog Addressable Systems
Identify Fire Alarm System Equipment

2. Explain Fire Alarm Initiating Devices
Describe Conventional versus Addressable Commercial Detectors
Explain various types of detectors such as Automatic Detectors, Heat Detectors, Smoke
Detectors and Other Types of Detectors
Describe Manual (Pull Station) Fire Detection Devices
Identify Auto-Mechanical Fire Detection Equipment
