Hey, Teens! You and your parents are invited to join us for a brand new "Teen Health & Wellness" series! In partnership with Hackensack UMC Mountainside, we will be hosting two dynamic presentations/Q & A sessions on issues that matter to you in your lives as Young Adults. These community lecture-discussions are appropriate for teens in grades 6-12 and your parents; see below for biographies of our invited speakers.
Elena Mills is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 15 years experience in food and nutrition science. She has been instrumental in creating and implementing nutrition and wellness programs for various groups within the community, ranging from preschoolers to senior citizens. Currently she is also the Cardiac Rehab and Transition Care Unit Dietitian at Hackensack Meridian Health at Mountainside Medical Center, as well as a clinical dietitian within the hospital. Ms. Mills has worked with teens to educate them on the importance of health and nutrition in their lives.
John Del Vecchio is an Exercise Physiologist at the Cardiac Rehab and Fitness Center at Mountainside Hospital where he has been working for the past 2 years. He grew up in nearby Bloomfield, NJ and attended Montclair State University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science. He is currently attending MSU for his Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology and is conducting a study focusing on the cardiovascular effects of sodium during exercise. Mr. Del Vecchio is certified in Functional Movement Systems testing.
