Come out of your winter holes and enjoy this (partial) break of warmth and sunshine (more like partly cloudy now). We'll hike the Labyrinth, one of my favorite hikes on the Washington side of the Gorge. This hike offers beautiful views up and down the Columbia River on the dryer side of the Cascade Mountains. And who knows, maybe well run into David Bowies ghost!

After the hike let's go get food. Hood River has no 100% vegan eateries (pathetic!), so we'll go to Remedy Juice Cafe downtown where there are at least several vegan options.

HIKE DESCRIPTION: from www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Labyrinth-Coyote_Wall_Loop_Hike: "...this loop takes you through a geological wonderland, the scablands and waterfalls of the Labyrinth up to grassy meadows with views to Columbia Gorge high points and Mount Hood. Then youll traverse through oak woods and across meadows to reach the imposing cliffs of Coyote Wall, known to geologists as the Bingen Anticline and to mountain bikers as the Syncline..."

START POINT: Labyrinth Trailhead ("Syncline Trail - East Trailhead" on Google Maps). This parking area is often much less crowded and avoids the falling rock hazard at the west parking area approach.
