What we'll do
1. Sign up here: http://p.ridj-it.com/app/trips-search?id=8425

We also do pickups from Park & Rides off of 93. 2. Event Description: Knock off another winter 48 peak with an all day hike to Owl's Head. We'll start at the Lincoln Woods visitors center on rte. 112 and hike up the Lincoln Woods trail for just under 3 miles to the Franconia Brook Trail. After 1.7 miles on the Franconia Brook we reach the Lincoln Brook trail, which we'll follow for 3.4 miles to the Owl's Head Path. The final 1.1 miles on the Owl's Head path takes us to the summit. We will retrace our steps back to the visitors center. The total length of this hike is 18.2 miles. The first three miles is on a flat trail, so we'll save some time on this portion, but expect this hike to take around 11-12 hours to complete. This hike is rated at moderate to difficult, and the final 1.1 miles on Owl's Head path is steep. We will be finishing the final portion in the dark, so make sure you have a headlamp with extra batteries. I will give an update on the weather and trail conditions a few days before.

3. An RSVP on Meetup is not a real RSVP.

What to bring
4. Wear full winter clothing (non-cotton layers, rain/wind shell, insulated boots, warm hat & gloves, etc.) Also have microspikes or hillsounds, mountaineering snowshoes, plenty of food, and a way to prevent your water from freezing. This is an 18 mile hike so be sure you have enough food and water. Also have a headlamp with extra batteries. Check this list if you are unsure what to bring. https://sectionhiker.com/winter-day-hiking-gear-list/
