This is a sewing class that involves needles, fabric, and threads. Beads and botanical decoration will also be involved. The idea is to sew a heart for someone who is not feeling well. We bind this heart with threads, beads and fill it with black beans. As we create the heart and decorate it, we focus on the healing of the person for whom we are making it. It is never something to be sold, but only to be given. The heart, once filled with black beans, is heavy. It can be placed upon the heart of the person experiencing illness and it is the weight of the heart that brings them comfort. Needles, fabrics and beads will be supplied, but if the student wishes, they can bring an embellishment important to their loved one and we will sew it on. This is all hand sewing.
