The goal of Miami 1000 is to secure 1,000 jobs in targeted urban areas. Emphasis will be placed on promoting innovation, technology, training and strengthening black owned tech firms. The movement started in Ferguson MO where Dr. Lance McCarthy and Ray Lewis envisioned a disruption of the job fair with a hiring event. The press conference will highlight local collaboration of this effort featuring leaders from the City of Miami, Miami Gardens and North Miami. Collectively, these have brought together business leaders, faith-based organizations, investors as well as venture capitalists all in the name of strengthening communities and families.

1:00 PM 3:00 PM - Black Tech Round Table- Black Tech Week, Global 1000 Miami and MDEAT
Location: University of Miami CIC - Everglades Room
The Black Tech Round Table will allow local tech firms to discuss their growth strategy and objectives. Local firms will be highlighted and firms will gain exposure to venture capitalist and other financial resources in the workshops to follow.

This workshop will examine the relationships and opportunities for doing business with Caribbean Countries and vice versa. Florida is truly the gateway to South America and the Caribbean. Come and explore opportunities in cyber-technology from the Caribbean perspective.

Through our city hiring event, we provide a space for corporate entities to connect with qualified professionals. Our disruptive model creates more impact than the standard job fair. Candidates get the chance to be hired on the spot or given a follow-up appointment with the HR representative from participating companies.
