What we'll do

Hello Members:

Let's join together in a combined effort for a wonderful cause! The North Shore Women's Group and The North Shore Social Group will be collecting food for the Wakefield Food Pantry.

Date: Saturday, Feb. 10th
Time: We will be collecting from 9-11 a.m. (we need to turn the room over at 11:05)
Where: The American Civic Center, 476 Main St., Wakefield

Why this matters:
16.5% of children in Massachusetts are food insecure, which WebMD defines as the situation when people need to live with hunger and fear starvation.
As of October 2013, there were 501,212 Massachusetts households participating in SNAP (define). This number continues to grow.
A popular belief is that minimum and low-wage jobs are predominantly held by teenagers, but over 200,000 children in Massachusetts have a parent who earns less than $11 an hour.

Please do not donate expired products. The Pantry is not able to give them to their clients and must throw them out.
Although food is always welcome, the WIFP also happily accepts monetary donations! Checks should be made payable to The Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry.

How you can help:
Donate non-perishable food items and well take care of things from there! A list of the most-requested items is posted below. Please do not donate expired products. PLEASE NO DAMAGED/DENTED OR EXPIRED ITEMS (they will be thrown out)

Most Needed Items:
Instant Coffee
Brand Name Cereal
Jelly or Jam
Rice pilaf
Canned pasta meals
Chili/Beef Stew
Campbells or 10 oz canned soup

I hope you can join us in giving back and helping others in our community.

Thank you so much for your help!

Sue, LeLanie and Amy
