This is a difficult and long 12 mile or more hike from Beech Gap to Warden Fields along Citico Creek Road. We will meet at the Cherohala Skyway Visitor Center at 7 AM, then leave cars at Warden Fields, then drive up the Skyway to Beech Gap on the TN/NC state line.

We will hike out the BMT to Cold Springs Gap, then will take one of three possible routes down to Warden Fields depending on the water levels in Citico Creek. We will go down the North or South Fork Citico Creek Trail if levels are not too high, or down the Pine Ridge Trail if creek flow is high. If we go down one of the Citico Creek trails, expect a few creek crossings which may be even up to your waist. This is fun, but at high levels can be dangerous. If we go down the Pine Ridge Trail, there are no creek crossings.

Dogs on leash are welcome. Bring a daypack, lunch, water, and creek wading shoes.

After the hike, we will go to Tellico Plains for dinner, probably at the new Mexican restaurant.

If you wish to attend, please contact Rick Harris through Meetup, or by email at [masked]. If questions, email Rick or call him at his home[masked].
