This workshop is designed toprovide participants with an overview of the family play therapy process, specific to play therapy interventions. Attendees will be exposed to a variety of play therapy techniques (validated by research), that can be utilized as a part of the assessment process, in addition to being provided with applicable scenarios that one can utilize in their treatment approaches with clients. Skill building exercises will be included in this workshop to provide participants with practice of newly learned skills.
Identify and list at least 2 reasons to engage the family unit in the therapeutic process.
Explore and identify at least 3 play therapy techniques that will actively engage and include all family members present.
Identify at least 2 theoretical orientations one can utilize to assist with the family therapeutic process, to include treatment planning and service delivery.
