Oct 12 Transition to/from Pre-K

Do you have a child with a disability or other health care need age 2.5 - 6 years old? Are your trying to figure out how to get services for your child through the school system? Is your child transitioning from Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) to the Preschool program for children with disabilities (PPCD), PreK, or leaving one of those programs and headed to Kindergarten? Learn how to get services, and effectively prepare for and participate in your childs meeting. If you are just starting out in the process or you have never attended an IEP training - this is a great place to start to gain a general overview!

Oct. 19 - What the PLAAFP?

"Present Levels of Academic Achievement & Functional Performance." Simply put, Present Levels answer the questions: What can your child do and what does he/she know right now? Why is the PLAAFP so important and how should it connect to your student's IEP goals and objectives?

Oct 26 - Measurable Goals & Objectives

How do you write goals? Are objectives necessary? What should the goals be based on? Are the goals & objectives appropriate? How is progress measured? What about grading?

Nov. 2 Transition Planning

Transition Planning should begin in kindergarten, but for some reason we wait until Jr. High. Learn about the various components of transition planning within the IEP process so you can be involved in decision making that can improve the likelihood of positive outcomes for your child.

Nov. 9 Graduation Programs

Foundation Programs, Endorsements, Performance Acknowledgements? Will your child graduate like everyone else? Does your child need to stay beyond 4 years in high school? How does that work? Which one is right for your child?

Nov 14 - Autism Supplemetn

Nov 30 Placement

You have developed your IEP goals and objectives, talked about accommodations and testing now let's look at how to determine placement. There IS a continuum not just two choices!!
