Siemens is home to Explorer Post #5101. Exploring is a subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America, and is a coeducational careerexploration program. Students are invited to participate in this program and work with machinists and engineers to learn about what a career is like in engineering, advanced manufacturing and technology. There will be a once a month meeting for the students, and a schedule will be distributed at our Open House and is below.

Our Firstnighter will be on September 12th from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM. It will take place at our facility located at 5101 Westinhouse Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28273. There you will learn more about what this program is about, how it works, and register. This program is only available to the first 30 people that register, so there will be those unable to participate. If you do make it on the list, please take this program seriously and plan to attend. It will cost $30.00 to register andonly cash or check will be accepted (no credit/debit cards). Checks are to be made payable to'BSA.'

The first meeting is MANDATORY, and those that register and do not attend will forfeit their spot to the next person on the waiting list.

Meetings are heldSecond Thursday of the month, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Parking Lot Access:

The event will be held at the Siemens Charlotte Energy Hub in the Generator Office Building, as indicated on the Charlotte Campus Map. To gain access to the parking lot, press the intercom button, indicate to Security you are here for the Scouting Explorer Post, and give your host name: Erik Lombardo. The gate is on a timer so ensure it is one car going through each time the gate closes and opens.

Appropriate Attire: Pants, sleeved shirt. For the manufacturing facility tour: Steel-toed or hard-soled flat, closed shoes or boots. For the manufacturing facility tour, all participants must be fully mobile (no casts, crutches, canes, etc.) in the event of an emergency. The site can provide safety glasses.

Appropriate Identification: All visitors must be pre-registered for site visitor compliance policies.

In accordance with United States Border Patrol and the Siemens Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism Policy, all Visitors, must present a United States issued valid drivers license or identification card and be positively identified by Siemens Security personnel. International Passports are the only form of non-United States identification approved in accordance with this policy. Foreign Drivers Licenses are not accepted.

All visitors are to be escorted by their Siemens Charlotte host at all times.
