About the Workshop
The purpose of this workshop is to promote a healthy, engaged family unit and how to foster that behaviour through physical activity. Saunders will also highlight the role technology plays in our day to day lives and how it can negatively impact and disconnect families. The goal of this workshop is to offer educated advice and guidance for families to stay engaged and connected.
*The price of $125.00 includes access into the 3 sessions held as part of this workshop. Tickets are non-refundable, however they are transferable.
Dr. Travis J. Saunders has been involved with a variety of research projects over his long standing career, which can be categorized into three broad categories.
The relationship between physical activity/sedentary behavior, food intake, and health.
Hormonal and inflammatory responses to exercise.
Body fat distribution and metabolic risk.
Dr. Saunders holds his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary, Masters of Science in Kinesiology and Health Studies from Queens University, and his PhD in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. Saunders completed his post doctoral fellowship at Dalhousie University. With the predominant focus of his research involving physical activity and the health impacts of sedentary behavior, Saunders is the ideal speaker to conduct Connection Gates third workshop, Engaging with a more Connected Family Unit.
