What we'll do
El Cajon Mountain
Looks like the weather will cool down enough to climb this weekend. I'm looking for a climbing partner or partners to do some moderate routes this Saturday.
If your not familiar with ECM, it's a full day event with a long hard approach. It can be very hot, even in the winter due to its southern exposure, and lack of shade. The climbing offers lots of multi pitch routes on great rock. There's also a sense of adventure, due to the lack of info and grades on the climbs. Yes, there are single pitch climbs at the base.

The Organizers are not certified instructors. They are just like you. People looking for people to climb with. Directions:
From San Diego, take I-8 east or Hwy 52 East to Hwy 67. Go North a few miles to Mapleview Rd and turn right. Mapleview Rd eventually turns into Lake Jennings Park Rd. About 1.5 miles from Hwy 67, turn left onto El Monte Rd and drive 5.7 miles to the El Cajon Mtn parking area an area with a wide dirt shoulder on the North side of the road. If you get to the El Capitan Reservoir gate, youve gone too far.
If you are late, meet us at the crag. Here's how. From the pull off, walk east about 75 ft and cross a wood plank on the creek, follow trail to the fire rd under the power lines. Head west about 150 ft, look for the trail head, marked with a nesting birds sign. That's it. Follow trail to the crag.

What to bring
If you don't have a rope or rack. You must be willing to help haul ropes or gear. Bring a back pack (not a day pack), because you'll need to help haul. Don't forget water, food, a torch, a jacket, and personal anchor.

Important to know
The Organizers are not certified instructors. Know how to belay a leader, repel, clean and keep yourself and your partners safe.
You need to bring plenty of water, it get's hot there even in winter time. You must help haul gear on the approach ( which is long). Be on time if you don't want to do the hike alone.
Don't sign up and not show up.
