Eagle Mountain is located in the Yaha Tinda area, West of Sundre.

This trip will entail gaining the ridge through some light forested steep terrain. Once on the ridge, we will travel up and down several knolls. There are some prominent rock bands that can be tackled head on or circumvented along the way to the summit.

Membership:In order to participate in a CSMC trip, you must have paid this year's membership fee. Cost for membership with the CSMC is $25 per year. Payment can be made online through the CSMC page on Meetup.


Waiver: Completion and submission of aclub waiver is mandatory for every trip.

Car pooling:If you choose to be a passenger,the expectation is that you will help to share a reasonable part of the cost, typically 20 cents/km divided between everyone in the car. For this trip: 400km round trip distance = $80.00 per vehicle divided by all people in the car.

Hazards:This trip may involve steep hiking, icy or slippery conditions, and loose rock. Other hazards may include narrow and exposed sections, unstable foot/hand holds, rock fall, inclement weather, and wildlife.

Required Gear:Rock climbing helmet,micro-spikes/crampons, head lamp, hiking poles, eye protection, hiking boots,food/snacks/water, gloves, toque, jacket and additional warm clothes.

Recommended Gear:Ice axe, shell pants, sunglasses, gaiters, sunscreen lotion,second set of shoes and a bag for dirty boots.
