Crossroads Church will be hosting Drop & Shop 2017 to serve families in our church and community that have special needs. Parents will drop their child off from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and will have the opportunity to go Christmas shop. During this time the kids will participate in various rotations such as a Bible lesson about Jesus' Birth, Arts and Crafts, Sports and Games, and Music. Each rotation will last approx 40 minutes.
The goal of this outreach is to provide much needed respite for these families, share the true meaning of Christmas and reach unchurched families in our community. Don't let your inexperience with this awesome population keep you from jumping in to help. We will make sure you are well equipped for your role and we will have plenty of support staff to help!
VOLUNTEER INFO MEETING: For those who have signed up or are interested in helping, please make it a priority to attend our informational meeting on Sunday, November 12th in Studio 4 immediately following the 11:00 service. The meeting will be kept short, as we want to be mindful of your time. We will go over final details of what the Drop and Shop day will look like.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to volunteer at this event?
Yes. Buddies must be at least 16 years of age. Middle school students are welcome to help but must be accompanied by an adult and cleared by Unlimited staff. All volunteers must complete a background check through the church. If you already have one completed it can be sent to email@example.com. There are times provided below to complete your background check. If the following times do not work with your schedule please let us know.
- Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 10:15 a.m. on the Nursery Hall at our Hwy 16 campus.
- Sunday, November 12, 2017 immediately following the DISMISSAL of the 11:00 service in Studio 4 at Hwy 16 campus.
What time do I need to arrive?Unless your sign up slot indicates a specific shift time, you will need to arrive at 8:30 and will be able to leave by 3:00 p.m.
What happens when I get hungry?
Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided for all volunteers. Please notify us ahead of time if you have any food allergies.
What are my parking options at the event?
We are requesting all volunteers to park towards the back of the lower lot, allowing the families we will serve to park closer to the lower entrance.
What can I wear to this event?
Wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. If you have an UNLIMITED T-shirt we encourage you to wear it, although not required. If you would like to purchase an UL T-shirt, contact Chloe Walker or Karen Jackson. Cost is $10 per T-shirt.
