This trail climbs the ridge east from Highway 35, east of Mt. Hood, and has some great views back towards the mountain. It has 12 species of conifer, transitioning from wet west side forest to pines, larch, spruce and true firs. There is scattered old growth, with trees to 5' in diameter. The larches should be starting to turn orange - they are the only conifers that drop their needles every fall, and regrow them in the Spring.

Dinner to follow at Solera Brewery in Parkdale.
