This loop hike is the second to be held in memory of the late Dick Terwilliger, a long-time Sierra Club and PATC hike leader extraordinaire who passed away in December at 97 years young. In Dicks style this briskly paced event is for well conditioned hikers and will cover both Knob and Neighbor Mountain in Shenandoah National Park. Starting at Elkwallow Picnic Area in SNP we will do a counterclockwise loop climbing Knob Mountain, descend to Jeremy's Run, cllmb Neighbor Mountain, then return on the AT. This is a vigorous loop hike of approx. 18 miles with over 3,500' of elevation gain. Only those in excellent physical conditioning should attempt this hike. Total hiking time approximately 6 hours. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1744482984#.WT2K-YrAkns.email
