An out-and-back day hike to Jobs and Jobs Sister Peaks is being proposed. At 10,633, and 10,823' feet, Jobs and Jobs Sister Peaks are the fourth and second highest peaks in the Tahoe basin, respectively. Total round trip hiking distance is approximately 6 miles, with 2,250 of elevation gain; making this double-peak climb short, but strenuous for most. The final approach to the summit however is a Class 2 scramble. Hiking shoes with good traction, and hiking poles are absolutely essential for this hike. On approach to the summit, you are likely to encounter scree (loose, sandy soil that gets into your shoes), so Scree Gators are strongly recommended. Lastly, access to the trailhead requires about 4 miles of off-road travel on bumpy terrain. A high clearance vehicle is recommended. The pace of this hike will be easy. Bring $$ for your carpool driver; drinking water; lunch; snacks; hat, sunscreen, and warm layers for changeable weather conditions. Severe rain, or wind, forecast will necessitate canceling or postponing the event. An optional dinner at a local area restaurant after the hike is proposed.

DIRECTIONS TO THE TRAILHEAD:

From 11th & P Street to Willow Creek Road (Forest Service Road 051) via US-50 E/El Dorado Fwy.

1. Head west on P St toward 11th St
2. Turn left onto 11th St
3. Continue onto Riverside Blvd
4. Turn left onto X St
5. Use the left 2 lanes to take the I-80 BUS E/US-50 E/Reno/Placerville/Fresno/CA-99 S ramp
6. Merge onto CA-99 S/I-305 E/I-80BL E/US-50 E
7. Continue onto US-50 E/El Dorado Fwy for 93 MILES.
8. Turn right onto CA-89 S. At this point note your odometer reading.
9. After 9.4 MILES on CA-89 S, turn left on a paved road that appears uphill.
10. You must travel approximately 4.0 MILES on an UNPAVED ROAD to arrive at an open parking area. We will meet here.
