Come with us as we explore one of the most beautiful parts of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve!

Coyote Canyon Trail is one of the most spectacular trails in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The hike is relatively flat. The only reason the hike is ratedINTERMEDIATE is because of the length, 6.5 miles. The rock formations are similar to the Toms Thumb area, but an added bonus is the Giant Saguaros. This is a beautiful hike where you will see the largest crested Saguaro in the preserve and the famous Michelin Man Saguaro. You're encouraged to bring snacks, sun protection of some sort and must bring at least 2+ liters of water per person and sturdy hiking footwear. Again this is another example of how beautiful the Sonoran Desert can be.

DISTANCE: About 6.5 miles roundtrip

ELEVATION GAIN: Minimal, mostly rolling, about 300 feet

TRAIL STYLE: Large loop.

DURATION: Under 3.0 hours with stops.

DOGS: Good hikers are welcome on this hike, but it will be too hot for most.
