Join us on this beautiful trail at Lake Shasta and although the lake levels may not be as high as last year, we can see the continual rehabilitation of the area as it continues to recover from the Jones Fire that happened in the spring of 2000 and the Bear Fire of August 2004. According to the Shasta Lake Trails guide (http://healthyshasta.org/maps/ShastaLakeTrailsGuide.pdf), prior to the fire in 2000, lines of sight were fairly limited by a dense undergrowth of manzanita and young knob cone pine so the fire has helped to open up the surrounding country side and views are actually much improved. This is about a 2 1/5 hour hike with some easy climbing. Enjoy some nice views of Lake Shasta along the way.

Hike Length : Approximately 7 miles

Carpool - 8:30 a.m. My T Fine Grocery at 21919 State Hwy 299, E Bella Vista, CA 96008. (You can get there either directly via Hwy 299 or via Hwy 44 to Deschutes Road. Take Deschutes road until it dead ends at Hwy 299 and you will see My T Fine on your left.)

Directions to Trailhead: Take 299 east of I-5 to Dry Creek Road (just past Deschutes Rd.) Turn north and drive to Bear Mountain Road. Then turn east and follow the signs to Jones Valley campground and marina.

Note: We will start the hike from the trailhead closest to the Boat Ramp Parking Lot so you will need to find a place to park along the road or there is a significant parking fee if you park in the Boat Ramp Parking Lot. Clikapudi Trail is on the Jones Valley arm of Shasta Lake.

How to find us:Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the carpool location or 9:00 a.m. at the trailhead.
