Sep 16 8:30AM - 7:00PM

BugFest 2017- September 16, 2017 at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and surroundings areas (indoors and out). Wake Audubon Society will be there and we will need YOU to help us! Deadline to sign up is SEPT 5, as I need to turn in the names on Sept 6.

SHIFT 1 (8:30 - 11:30)

SHIFT 2 (11:30 2:30)

SHIFT 3 (2:30-5:30)

SHIFT 4: Evening Insectival (5-7)

The Museum will also provide one or two volunteers per shift.

This is our BIGGEST outreach event of the year. Find out why 30,000+ people attend BugFest each year! Don't miss this amazing event - there are free lectures and demos, fun activities for children of all ages. 80+ booths of information, plus outdoor booths selling REAL food (ice cream, sandwiches, etc.)

And yes, there is also Cafe Insecta - free food cooked with insects (mostly mealworms and crickets). That stuff is usually gone by early afternoon, and the lines are long (I cannot imagine why!)

=================================

Please help us for a few hours on BugFest!

Volunteers must be 14 or older (they can be younger IF they are accompanied by an adult.)

We encourage the Wake Audubon Young Naturalists to volunteer for this event, too!

**Volunteers who RSVP ahead of the deadline will receive a free Bugfest! T-shirt and a parking pass . (Remember, you will register with Wake Audubon, not with the Museum.)

PLEASE arrive 15 minutes before your shift starts, and allow time to find a parking space and walk over to our booth. Our booth will most likely be in front of the Museum's entrance, across from the Volunteer Tent. Volunteers receive a parking pass to park underground for free (trust me, you will need this!) and a wonderful Cicada Tshirt for free!

Our shaded booth is outside. There will be other volunteers so you will not be alone and you can take a break. Bring a refillable water bottle. Wear comfortable shoes; we have chairs but this is a busy booth! I will send you more information and reminders as we get closer to the date. RAIN OR SHINE EVENT.

Call L. Erla Beegle at[masked] to OR email [masked] to sign up.

We need to know your name, phone number, EMAIL and the shift(s) you are signing up for.
I will send you a registration form and a parking pass. Please RSVP by 9/5. Of course, last-minute volunteers and "walk-ins" are welcomed. But if you want to get a free BugFest t-shirt, you have to register by 9/5. If you sign up for two time slots (our booth or another booth), you will get a free lunch, too (take it from me, ONE shift of three hours is quite enough... and there are free snacks for volunteers in three break rooms, so you don't need the pizza in exchange for six hours of work).

Thank you so much for helping Wake Audubon Society!

How to find us:We usually have an outdoor booth, near the front doors, across from the Volunteer Registration table
