In this Instructor led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam. The New 2015 AHA Guidelines BLS Provider replaces the 2010 AHA Guidelines BLS for the Healthcare Providers Course.
This course covers the following core material:
Emphasis on high quality CPR including team dynamics
Adult, child, and infant CPR
Ventilations with a barrier device
1 and 2 rescuer techniques
Use of the bag-valve mask
Use of an AED (automated external defibrillation)
Relief of foreign body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants
All participants will receive a current BLS Provider card at the end of the class. Cards are valid for two years.
