Blackboard Collaborate Ultra Online Introduction and Refresher Training Session

Blackboard Collaborate (BBC) Ultra is a live online classroom environment. It is integrated with CloudDeakin. This one hour hands-on session is facilitated by an instructor in real-time, in the cloud using the BBC environment.

This session is targeted to new users or those who want to refresh their skills in BBC. The session starts with the basics of teaching in a synchronous classroom using BBC.


The 1-hour Session Includes:

  • 45 minutes introduction and training

  • 15 minutes question time


This session will be conducted online, and a direct link will be provided in an Outlook calendar invitation after signing up via Eventbrite.

Facilitators will be in the session 15 minutes prior to the start of the session.



BEFORE the session

Staff participants must set up their computer with Internet connection, obtain a microphone headset, and go through Bb Collaborate audio setup test to participate online.

Preparation:

  • You will require a computer with an internet connection, latest Google browser and microphone USB headset to talk and listen. A webcam is not essential but is highly recommended. If you do not have a USB headset please contact the Arts & Education ICT team atartsed-ict@deakin.edu.auwho will be able to arrange one for you.

  • In order to participate in a Bb Collaborate Ultra session, you will need to ensure your computer and other hardware are set up correctly. It is highly recommended you follow the instructions forfirst-time usersavailable online.

  • Instructions and guidance on other topics, key functions and features, are available in theBlackboard Ultra Guide.

  • Google Chrome is the preferred browser, and provides the best experience using Blackboard Collaborate. Please ensure you have the latest version ofChromeinstalled.

  • Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is entirely web-based - there is no software to install.
