Wake Audubon Society: Free birdwalk on SATURDAY, APRIL[masked], 8:30 am to approximately 11:00 am at Wendell Community Park, 601 West 3rd Street, Wendell, NC (Note: at times there is an event at the park and thus an entrance fee -- tell them you are there for the free birdwalk to avoid the fee, and park in the dirt lot opposite the tennis courts).

Meet at Wendell Community Park, dirt parking lot near the park sign and entrance. Look for people with binoculars. Leader is Frank Doherty ( [masked] )

This birdwalk repeats on the second Saturday of most months. Check Meetup and wakeaudubon.org calendars for updates. Wendell Park has a trail along edge, woodland, and a boardwalk overlook of a marsh with baldcypress and cattails. It is one of our easternmost Wake County hotspots, and just a short drive to the Turnipseed Preserve (which is open only on weekends).

NOTE: Most of the trails are new, unpaved and rough (roots, etc.) .Watch your step, wear sturdy shoes, and pack water.
