Hello everyone,

Please note the early start time (7:30AM) for this Saturday. Full marathoners will be exploring a new scenic trail around Mystic Lakes this time (target - 12 miles). Please make sure to review the route map and take note of all the turns to avoid getting lost (and running longer :-)).

We will meet at the lawn next to the Au Bon Pain cafe near Davis Square T stop. For those who take the T, look for Au Bon Pain after you get out of the station.

Parking: There is street parking without meters along Holland Street about three blocks away from Au Bon Pain (driving away from the Davis Square intersection). You can get additional parking tips on free/cheap parking sports from alum runners as well.

Target mileage for this Saturday: 12 miles for full marathoners, 6 miles for half marathoners. If you new to the group, or wish to adjust your target mileage, please talk to the coach before starting. Full marathoners: Minuteman - Mystic Lakes - back to Davis Sq. Half marathoners: Minuteman trail up to Mill Street and back.

Group run logistics:Please come prepared for a short run (or run/walk). Leave your bags, etc. at home or in your car so that you can run easily. Please make sure to arrive 10 minutes early to sign in, warm up, etc.

Coach will brief you at the beginning of the run about the distance (about two to three miles) and direct you through stretching exercises. It is absolutely OK to run/walk in the beginning. Many of us are first-time runners. So please dont be shy :-).

Suggested weekly schedule:
We recommend two or three short mid-week run/walk sessions on your own or with your local friends from work or home. Midweek runs will stay short for the whole season (2-3 miles, etc). Only the Saturday runs will gradually get longer over many weeks. You may want to experiment to find a sustainable schedule that works best for you. For example, run early in the morning before work (recommended), before lunch, or after work, etc.

Sunday - 4 miles easy run

Monday - Rest

Tuesday - Cross training (swimming/yoga/biking/....)

Wednesday - 3-4 miles easy run

Thursday - 3-4 miles easy run

Friday - Rest

Saturday - Group long run

Program overview:TeamAIDAsha is a beginner-friendly marathon/half-marathon training and fund-raising program.We train runners for their full or half marathon races and runners raise donations for Association for India's Development and Asha for Education. Both beginner and experienced runners are welcome. Anyone is welcome to RSVP and join us for the group runs up to four time with no obligations. We request formal registrations after attending four group runs.
