Learn about the most advanced construction standard in the world, how to implement passive principles in your projects, and everything necessary to become a PHICertified Passive House Tradesperson (CPHT). Open to all tradespeople and project team members with working knowledge of construction.
Starting in February 2018, Emu will be providing participants with TWO, newly restructured, CPHT class options (Track 1 and Track 2) in Denver, CO:
We know that taking time away from your usually busy work schedule can be tricky. Emu has developed a new, 2-part class track for local builders who prefer to take the course outside of regular business hours. Track 1 will be broken into 4 weekend days, culminating in the CPHT exam. Please select the Track 1 options at Registration for the following format:
Module 1:Sat/Sun February 10th + 11th
Module 2:Sat/Sun February 17th + 18th
CPHT Exam:Sat February 24th, 2018
Note: Going forward, Emu will begin offering these Modules throughout the year in Denver, Colorado. Participants will be able to choose to split up the modules over a one-year period (i.e. take the modules in two separate sessions). Completion of Module 1 will be required for participants to register for Module 2.
For those of you traveling from out of town, or those of you who just prefer to get it done in one go, we offer the usual intensive 4-day course during the week leading up to the CPHT exam. Please select the Track 2 options at Registration for the following format:
Module 1:Tue/Wed February 20th + 21st
Module 2:Thu/FriFebruary 22nd + 23rd
CPHT Exam:Sat February 24th, 2018
A typical daily schedule has us starting the day at 8am, a 15-minute morning break, a one-hour lunch break, a 15-minute afternoon break, and finishing the day between 4 and 5 p.m. (depending on the pace of the group).
In order to become a PHI Certified Passive House Tradesperson at the conclusion of Modules 1 and 2, you may take the CPHT Exam. This is an open-book, pass/fail exam.Emu will be providing registrants with the necessary materials to guide test-takers through the exam.
It is made up of 3 sections (45 minutes per section):
1) Passive House Basics is required.
Each participant may chose between the next two sections:
2) Building Envelope or3) Building Servicesor both
The exam fee covers all three sections, as well as one 45 minute review session with Emu in the event of a failing grade (as issued by PHI).
The exam is internationally recognized. Participants who successfully pass 2 sections of the exam will receive a CPHT Certificate from PHI and will be listed in PHIs international database for five years.
