The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife (SFW) are offering a free youth pheasant hunt in Annabella, Utah at the Wildlife Management Area.

Requirements:

To participate, you must be 17 years of age or younger. The hunt is limited to 50 participants (25 per session). SFW will provide the birds, so young hunters have an increased opportunity for harvesting pheasants. You will need your hunter education completed or a trial hunting program number, as well as a valid hunting or combination license. Please wear at minimum a hunter orange hat to address safety concerns. All participants must agree to the waiver form provided; this includes adults attending to supervise youth or observers/helpers staying at the event to provide transportation and youth who will be hunting. No one will be permitted to the event unless they have agreed to the online waiver.

Note: Do NOT bring dogs that are not well trained for upland game hunting. If dogs create an unsafe or poor hunting environment, they must be restrained or removed from the location.

What to expect:

The morning session will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the afternoon session will begin at 1:00 p.m.Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled hunt, so you can obtain your free tickets for drawing prizes, practice clay pigeon shooting before the hunt, and listen to the safety briefing. Free lunch will be provided at noon forboth sessions, so please bring a camp chair if you prefer, earplugs, extra shotgun shells for target practice, and hunter orange for the shooter and anyone accompanying the shooter in the field.

Supervising adults will be emailed a survey within the week after your hunt occurs; please check your emails the week following the hunt to provide feedback.
