The Plan. Trek to Anderson and Shields peaks. We will meet at Forsee CreekTrail Head at0600, for a quick meet. We leave at 6 sharp, so come early. We take the Forsee Creek trail for approx 7 miles to San Bernardino devide trail, at which point, it will be off trail to Anderson Peak ( 10,864 ft ), after Anderson, we head back down to the trail and head East on San Bernardino devide trail, for approx 1 and 1/2 miles, at which time we get off trail again, and scramble on boulders to Shields Peak ( 10,620 ft ). We will have lunch here, enjoy the views take pictures, then head back down. There will be snow and or ice, so have your crampons or micros. Crampons are preferable, as they have more purchase in hard snow or icy conditions. Ill have both. This is an out and back hike, with approximately 4,100 ft elev gain. 15 plus miles.

This is a long arduous trek, know your limitations. Know the trail as there will be no SWEEP. This is not a race to the peaks. we stay together for camaraderie. If you like to race, this isnt for you. Conversely, if your much slower then the group, you will be asked to turn back, this is done for the safety of all members. I also recommend, you don't hike alone, find a hiking buddy or stay with the group. If your comfortable with this hike, sign up on the wait list, answer the qualifying question and if im familiar and confident with your hiking abilities, I will add you. If I have hiked with you before, Disregard the question.

What to bring? Your ten essentials are always required, with that, a working headlamp, Crampons or micro spikes, plenty of snacks, lunch and at least 3 liters of water. There might be a water source, but don't count on it. This is Winter time in the Mountains, so bring enough clothing to stay warm. Jackets, gloves, toque, hand warmers, extra socks. I have the permits for 10 fellow trekkers. I'm not sure if An adventure pass is needed, wouldn't hurt to have it.

Directions. Take the 38 out of Angelus Oaks, for approx 5-6 miles. Turn right on Jenks Lake road west, for approx 1/2 mile. Take a right, on Forsee Creek rd. And follow it, to Forsee Creek TH.

Adverse weather cancels this event. Also, its a good idea to have snow chains or cables, in your vehicle, when traveling in the mountains, in the Winter time.

No plus 1's. No dogs. No guest.

*********** WAIVER. All outdoor activities involve risk of injury or death. Incidents do happen. We will encounter snow and or ice. Do not sign up for this hike, if your not comfortable. Hike at your own personal risk. ********

How to find us:I will be next to the TH sign, wearing a US Army retired ball cap
