Algonquin Snowshoe Safari - FULL DAY
Experience snowshoeing at its deep snow best. Head off trail into a magical Algonquin winter following animal tracks wherever they may lead you.
Explore forest, wetland and shoreline habitats to discover the not so hidden world of Algonquin Park wildlife. The lives of a variety of species will be revealed in the snow.
Full Day Safari -Your private guide will share personal stories and samples from research on wolves and other species as you rest among a grove of balsam fir or gaze at a view of wooded hills and snow covered lakes. Mid-day lunch break is your groups choice of eating indoors at the Algonquin Visitor Centre or by a campfire in the woods, followed by an afternoon snowshoe session.
Important Notes
Dress warmly in layers with extra clothing including sweater, wind or waterproof upper/lower shell, fleece jacket/pants or down vest and second pair woolen socks and mitts in a small day pack. Avoid cotton clothing such as T-shirts and jeans. Proper winter boots, mittens (not gloves), balaclava or scarf, and warm winter hat and sunglasses are a must. Winter boots are available for rent upon request. Bring your camera and binoculars too!
Half Day Programs: Include up to two hours of snowshoeing ( depending on group fitness / warmth) and finish roasting marshmallows around a campfire.
Evening Programs: Every trip takes a different route. Pace and distance travelled depends upon group fitness / warmth, light and weather conditions. A light snack and cedar tea are provided. Please bring a full water bottle or thermos.

A Minimum of 2 participants is required for trips to run.
If a trip is cancelled for reasons of poor weather or lack of participants, clients will be contacted by email and full refund will be given. If clients cancel, a credit will be given towards another trip.
