Learning levels

Introduction to French: Comprehension, speaking, reading and writing. The oral aspect of the language is the primary focus in class. This course is designed for those who have no or very little knowledge of French.

BEGINNER 1

COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this course, students will develop basic communication skills and through practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing in French. At the end of the course, students are expected to have developed the ability to communicate in predictable and common situations and achieve a good control of basic grammatical structures and vocabulary.

BEGINNER 2

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to continue the development of basic communication skills acquired in a course equivalent to French 101-01. Through practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing in French, students will become familiar with more vocabulary and structures in the language.

Learning Outcomes for both Beginner 1 and Beginner 2

Demonstrate basic communication skills in French (listening, speaking, reading and writing)

Employ and acquire basic and new vocabulary and structures of the language

Correctly pronounce French words

Correctly transcribe basic spoken French


INTERMEDIATE 1

This class caters to those who have been introduced to French in the past, that might have taken a French class before, or for those who would like to re-familiarize themselves with the language. Also for those who have completed Beginner 1/Beginner 2

Tuesdays 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

January 28th to March 17th 2020

BEGINNER 2

Tuesdays 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

January 28th to March 17th 2020

INTERMEDIATE

Wednesdays 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

January 29th to March 18th 2020


Places are limited. Payment must be made by cash or cheque (ACFA rgionale de Red Deer), or through Eventbrite ($6.70 fee) before January 20th, 2020.

Refunds will be processed until January 20th, 2020. A $30,00 administrative fee will be deducted from total refund amount.
