Barren River Lake State Resort Park and the Army Corp of Engineers invites you to attend Trashmasters Classic Lakeshore Cleanup sponsored by Friends of Barren River Lake. This is an official National Public Lands Day event. Come lend a hand as we clean up the shoreline and make an impact right here in our own backyard!
After all your hard work, drive over to Barren River Lake State Resort Park Beach from 11:30 3:00 pm CST for free food, door prizes, and live entertainment. We have participated in this annual event in the past. We will meet, sign-in, and launch from the Beaver Creek boat ramp and kayak and collect trash. This area is less prone to boat/jet ski traffic and is a calmer area for kayaks; however, there will be more boats on the water due to this event. Anyone with a pontoon would be a great addition to follow along and gather the trash-filled bags and transport back to the Beaver Creek ramp.
I will update with more information regarding the festivities should any of us want to participate following our trash collecting. Or we can continue to paddle up Beaver Creek as far as we can...
Please join us in this great endeavor to keep our water clean. How to find us:People with Smiling faces, with trucks and Kayaks. (Well, canoes this day.)
