Make your miles matter! Join us at this feel-good community run, and help make a difference in the daily life of a home-bound senior in our local community. Prizes valued at over $1,200 from local businesses will be awarded to the top three men and women, as well as first place male and female finishers in seven age categories, oldest and youngest participant, and largest team.
For some people Meals on Wheels is a solution to a short-term problem. For others the volunteers are the only people they’ll see each day. In neighborhoods across lower Montgomery County Montco SAAC’s Meals on Wheels program is a lifeline for over 350 seniors every day, and the need continues to grow!
Recently, a man working at the library told me how grateful he was to receive Meals on Wheels after his knee replacement last year. For this man, and for people like Shirley who depend on their wheelchair to get around the house, grocery shopping and cooking are virtually impossible.
You can make a difference right here in our community by participating in the Outrunning Senior Hunger 5k Run and 3k Walk on September 16th, or by making a donation in support of this important event. We need everyone’s help to keep up with the demand and avoid a waiting list of seniors in need. All proceeds benefit the Meals on Wheels program of Montco SAAC.
If taking a walk with your dog or going for a run on the morning of Saturday, September 16th sounds good to you, please join us at Montgomery County Community College before the 9:00 am start! And if you can’t join us (or would prefer to sleep in!) you can still support the cause by making a donation from this site. It may be summer now, but September is right around the corner. Act now!
