The Ability Tour is an inclusive, bicycle ride dedicated to raising awareness for people of ALL abilities. Proceeds from the Ability Tour will go toward equipping other recreational events with the resources and accommodations to make events more accessible to all individuals.
The Ability Tour offers an 8, 30, or 50 mile loop (ride it twice and get your century) that begins at Peckham and quickly gets you into some scenic roads. The roads are well marked (we have been told they are the best marked routes in the state) and bicycle friendly. SAG services and aid stations will be available along the routes.
Aid stations include, food, beverages, basic bike repair and frisbees. Each station has accessible restrooms and a wheelchair available. Aid stations are bountiful on every route and no more than 15 miles apart. SAG drivers and aid stations will be available between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Need assistive technology? Hand cycles, tricycles, recumbents, tandems (including your very own captain, if needed) are available for test rides or to take on the course.
Each rider must wear a helmet. An adult must accompany riders under age 16. The Ability Tour is a rain or shine event.
