Endorsed by Curators:
In 1974, even though women made up 50% of the state and local government job holders, they made up less than 1.3% of all the city managers in the United States. Forty years later in 2014, the number of female managers had only increased a mere thirteen percent to 14.4%. One of the goals of Women Leading Government is to achieve gender balance in our profession. We hope to contribute to an increase in women in leadership positions by fulfilling our mission to "empower women to succeed in public service through mentoring and professional development."
The 2nd Annual Women Leading Government Conference will take place in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 12 & 13, 2017.
