Ready for a unique photography adventure in some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world? Here are the details. The fun begins in Las Vegas where we embark on our journey together in a van. Our first destination is a drive through Zion National Park followed by Bryce Canyon. We spend two nights in Bryce Canyon then two nights in Page, Arizona close to Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon.

Both Javier and I have working photography experience of over 30 years. We are there to help you create lasting images and improve your photography any way we can. We enjoy helping fellow photographers so please feel free to ask us questions along the trip. No question is too basic so ask away! Photographs are stories and photography is one of the most powerful tools to share a story and convey your vision of the world to others. We will help guide you tell your story of these spectacular locations.

Our goal is to meet fellow photographers and share the journey of photographing the best landscape of the Southwest and come away with amazing images that can be shared with friends and family!

CAMERA GEAR:

Tripod. It is important for most landscape shooters to use a tripod. This is a key tool. It allows you to bracket create your shots.

Camera and manual, plus extra batteries. Bring your manual, we dont know where all the setting might be if we are looking to change something.

Lenses. Some people love to capture all they see so a wide-angle lens is great for that this will be great inside the mission. Others like to zoom into small areas, a telephoto or zoom lens will serve this shooter. Filters. Bring your neutral density filters both graduated and straight. In addition, graduated colored filters could make some dramatic shots. Also bring your circular polarizer, as you never know when glare might be a problem.

Cable Release. (highly suggested) They allow for long exposures without camera shake, beyond the 30-second maximum most cameras have for shots taken by a timer.

Flash. We can use flash and extra batteries and flashlights with headlamps on this workshop. As night photography will need some kind of light painting to illuminate our subject matters. If you choose to do some of this kind of photography. Note: We will have a full moon!

Can I share accommodations with other photographers going?

Yes!! Please use the meetup comments section to meet and arrange your shared lodging with other photographers. We encourage this, as it's a great way of getting to know a fellow photographer. The last few years we have booked an AirB&B for the whole group in Vegas and it saves everyone a bit of money. It also makes it convenient since we head out from the same place. Information will be given to the group once we know whos going.

We also will have a secret Facebook group that we can communicate through. Just set your interest to share early.

Can I still come if I am just learning my camera settings and photography?

Yes!! New photographers are welcome to come and pick our brains. That said, please let us know what level you are at. Most photographers will have a basic understanding of their camera equipment. They will post-process their images using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Photographers who know a little about this will get more out of the workshop.

What happens if the weather is poor, like raining, do you cancel?

We will not cancel the trip and we will work with whatever weather Mother Nature gives us.

Some of the best pictures are shot on days that it rains, and clouds make for dramatic skies. Bring an umbrella!

Do I tip my workshop guide?

Tipping is customary in the U.S. service industry and is an important component of guides compensation. The tip amount is at your discretion, but as a rough guide, consider giving 5 to 10 percent.

What should I wear?
Suggested packing list will be provided.

REMEMBER OUR GOAL: Have a great time taking photographs of and to meet fellow photo enthusiast, and come away with amazing images that you share with friends and family!
