Visual Faith: Engaging Scripture with Eyes Wide Open
Faith is the one thing that we need to please God. Is faith learned? If so, how is it learned? What makes faith stick? In the earliest centuries of the church a rich visual heritage emerged that praised God through imagery while expressing the deep mysteries of the faith. Look around your church. How do you see God visually? How do the images you see speak to and broaden your faith? By the aid of the Holy Spirit, teachers, are challenged to be Gods transforming force and Christs whole-life witnesses by engaging students in utilizing their senses, hearing, taste, sight, touch, and smell. This session seeks to engage students in utilizing their sense of sight to engage Scripture; and, yes, God. Thus, those whom you teach will be challenged to adhere to Gods call to be a transforming force in the world.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
Hebrews 11:6, And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
