Show off your "TRUE" colors at the Third Annual Color Me Mutt 5K! Race day is Saturday, April 14, 2018, at NASCAR SpeedPark Smoky Mountains in Sevierville, TN. All proceeds from the race will help fund Pets Without Parents’ new cat house, as well as raise money for the PARC Foundation’s mission to strengthen families by positively impacting the community organizations where they live. The Color Me Mutt 5K Color Run will kick off at 8 a.m., with the 1-mile Color Fun Run/Walk and Pet Parade to follow. This year the 5K Color Run will be a timed event with awards provided in different age categories for men and women. Dogs are welcome to run with their owners in the 5K!
New to the event this year is the 1-Mile Fun Color Run/Walk. We know have previous runners (and walkers) whose favorite four-legged mutt would have preferred a shorter course. This is your chance! Don't worry, you'll still get showered with color at different locations along the course.
All 5K and 1-Mile participants will receive entry for their dog in the Pet Parade for no additional cost. Awards will be presented to the best in the following categories: Rough ’N Tough, Miss Priss, Best Personality, Best Groomed and Twinkies (the best dog and owner lookalike). Best of Show will be awarded to one of the category winners. The Awards Ceremony will immediately follow the Pet Parade.
Both the Color Me Mutt 5K Color Run and the 1-Mile Color Fun Run/Walk are pet-friendly races! You DO NOT need to be a pet owner to participate but pampered pooches are always welcome, making it the perfect way for dogs and their parents to spend time together in an active, healthy and fun environment. All color used is non-toxic and we have water stations for both dogs and owners on the route.
All 5K Color Run and 1-Mile Color Fun Run/Walk participants will receive a t-shirt, one packet of color, a commemorative pet item and an Unlimited Ride Wristband to NASCAR SpeedPark and is valid through May 25th. We are anticipating 500 runners/walkers and spectators for the event. Additionally, there will be a slate of vendors promoting their businesses and selling their products – mostly related to the needs of our animal companions.
