Endorsed by Curators:
The Kiwanis Midnight run hosts three runs in celebration of July 4th, Independence day. A one mile walk/ run, a 5K and a 10K. Both the 5K and the 10K are chip timed events.
As you run the course, your experience will vary depending on weather and the race you have chosen. You will experience a summer evening under the street lights as the race starts. You may experience a bright starlit night, especially in the darkest part of the course along the bridges or the park. Or a brilliant moon, depending on its phase glistening off wave tops and back lighting the shorelines and natural park settings. You may hear the waves lapping at the shores of the causeway. Its truly a unique sensation for an after hours treat in Florida.
Personal lighting is welcomed (headlamps, glowsticks, belts, reflective bands, etc.), sections of the course, especially in the park can be dark. Patriotic attire is welcome and encouraged. Tutus, TopHats and characters have been seen.
